We have continued looking at Old Testament characters, this month learning about Abraham. We made a frieze showing how God promised Abraham as many descendants as the stars and we played games around the theme.
The following club night we talked about“trust” and how Abraham trusted God when it came to following His instructions about sacrificing Isaac. He learnt that God would never accept child sacrifice. We related this to who do we trust?
Club nights in March: 9th and 23rd
I would like to share a few words about Christmas.
What is Christmas?
Christmas is the birthday of Jesus Christ. The Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
So Christmas is not all about food, drinks, presents and decorations. Its about the birth of Jesus Christ.
God love us so much that He has given us His only son to save us from our sin. So we have to open our heart for Jesus to be born-in.
If we have no presents on Christmas day, we shouldn’t be upset because God has already given us A big present, that is His only son.
We should also be grateful. Some people are very poor. They don’t have house to live, warm clothes to wear and food to eat. They have nothing like us but live on the street. That is why we have to be grateful for what we have and help those who are in need.
If we are the Children of God, lets obey what He says in the Bible. Let us make peace and love one another. We must tell about Jesus to the people who don’t know Him.
I wish everyone to have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
