Young Families Ministry

We aim to include engage the whole family within our ministry. See Family Breakfasts for our monthly family meetings. Our ministry style is influenced by the philosphy of Rachel Turner (Parenting your children for a life of faith) i.e, that we believe each child to be capable of owning their own individual God-given spirituality and that each family has an integral part in the spiritual growth of their children. We are happy to provide support to any family in our community in this important role. Sunday support comes in the form of R:age (Sunday School) from 11.00 to 12 noon.

April news from Jo (our Church Family Worker)
After a difficult start to the year, through illness, it has been great to get back into the swing of things and continue to see all the groups flourishing each week. Little Rainbows on Monday mornings is generally the quieter toddler group. This works well as it enables us to build up relationships, tell bible stories and do a bible related craft. Those
that come, come regularly and especially enjoy the crafts. Wednesdays are much busier, and full of so much fun. We have had more families join us recently and the regulars keep coming back for more. Again craft has been popular, especially our bottles with growing sea creatures!!! Family Time breakfasts are on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9am. We have had a fantastic number of families in February and March. On the day before Mothering Sunday we made cards, flowers and crosses, had fun with lots of car tracks, counted family members in Disney films and had a competition to see which man and child was the quickest to change a duvet cover! The prizes went to all the Mums who clearly do it more frequently! Sorry no photo evidence of this!
The last Sunday of the month will now be HURC Too. This is an altogether celebration for anybody who would like to come along. Our first one at the end of February was attended by 26 people. We started with drinks, brioche and building a house with blocks. I told the story of the paralysed man and through various questions, activities and reflections we thought about Friends, Faith and Forgiveness in relation to the story and our own lives.
If you would like to know more about any of the above, or would like to help in any way, please do contact me.
Thank you Jo
